Why am I walking? Good question! When I graduated High School in 2019, I asked myself "what now?" There wasn't anything concrete that I wanted to pursue - then suddenly I recalled the movie "Wild." I was chatting with a friend and jokingly asked, "what if I walk across America?" Then she answered, "do it." That's all it took. I set off on my first walk that year. Having bit off more than I could handle, I returned to Michigan after walking from Delaware to Ohio. Still, one thought remained; I wanted to finish what I started. Fast forward to the summer of 2024 where my drive to finish really exploded. Now, it's time to set out on another adventure. While I walk in support of Love Without Boundaries, my purpose is more than just charity. I see an opportunity to do good alongside my main goal this time around. When people think of these long journeys, they think of "soul searching" and "finding purpose." They're not entirely wrong. When I walk, I just think... think about my past, my mistakes, my "what ifs." In the end, I hope to learn from the people, places, and experiences of this journey. As you follow along, you'll get to know more about my "why." I want talk about things that are hard to bring up. Things that cause us to be vulnerable, but most importantly heal.
